I dig the site. Nice touch with the F logo that rises above the nav bar.

Good luck with finding that internship, shouldn't be too hard to find an unpaid one.
If you haven't already, try looking for non graphic design firms, i.e. a magazine. Just google things that you are interested in around the area and start emailing. It's how I got my gig. They weren't even looking for someone and they started me immediately. Don't depend on listings either. Fortune favours the bold.

Just cold searching, here is something along the lines that might do well for you.

http://www.vancouverfashionezine.com/ It mirrors your interest in fashion and they look like they could use some sprucing up with your help.

http://www.ionmagazine.ca/ Here's another one.

http://stringmagazine.ca/ and another. it's endless.

Go out and sell yourself! Essentially what a life of graphic design ends up being. Your product is you and your portfolio, not so much your credentials. Feel free to give me a shout to talk about it some more: andrew@formatmag.com
